Iknow, the Italy-Malta project, participated in Incontrimpresa 2019 Connext – Sicilia Catania and Syracuse on 11 October 2019.

Opportunities to boost entrepreneurial competitiveness between Sicily and Malta.

On 11th October, an industrial partnership event was held at the Isab-Lukoil premises in Melilli, namely ‘Incontrimpresa 2019 Connext- Sicilia Catania-Siracusa’. It was organised by Confindustria, the Italian confederation of industries, of Catania and Syracuse. The Scientific and Technology Park of Sicily participated as the lead partner of the cooperation project Interreg V-A Italy-Malta Interregional Key Networking for Open Innovation EmpoWerment

CREATING VALUE THROUGH THE POWER OF PARTNERSHIP AND HAVING A VISION

On June 25th, in the framework of CONNEXT SICILIA – Marketplace of Sicilian enterprises, Project manager Sebastiano Di Stefano illustrated the opportunities arising from the cross-border cooperation project Interreg-V Italy-Malta, called Interregional Key Networking for Open Innovation Empowerment, IKNOW. It aims at supporting new start-ups and boosting cooperation between enterprises and research centers (Knowledge and Open Innovation) so to promote trading and business agreements between Sicily and Malta.

Four editions of Seminars on entrepreneurship acceleration organised in Malta and in Sicily to lead accomplished and would-be entrepreneurs to address innovative and competitive cross-border networks where new and successful ideas can be presented to access new markets.

Launch Conference

On October 10th at the Auditorium Colajanni of the University of Kore of Enna held the conference launch of the Interreg VA Italy – Malta cooperation project I Know – Interregional Key Networking for Open innovation empoWerment, with the aim of encouraging the creation of start-ups and the strengthening of SMEs competitive, with an Open Innovation approach, an opportunity to create development and business between the two islands. The event was an opportunity to promote the acceleration seminars on Entrepreneurship, for students, researchers, entrepreneurs and experts. At the end of the conference, a round table was held on the Open Innovation approach to promote the networking of experiences and professional skills, through best practices and success cases. Health and ICT entrepreneurs: Marco Pierotti – Cogentech, E. Spampinato – Consorzio Etna Hitech, and representatives of Sicilian Universities: R. Faraci, M. Limosani, S. Montresor participated.
